This panel will explore how to leverage the tourism industry and the rich cultural diversity within the region to strengthen North America’s development. Tourism can serve as the catalyst for fostering a unified identity across Canada, Mexico and the United States. Stakeholders will share strategies aimed at enhancing connectivity, mobility and public policy initiatives. The discussion will underscore the significance of Travel & Tourism sector as one of the world’s largest economic sectors. According to WTTC Economic Impact Report, in 2023 the sector contributed USD 2.75TN to the North America economy, representing 8.8% of the GDP. Also in 2023, the sector supported 27 million jobs, representing 11.3% of total jobs. in the region. Looking ahead to 2034, the sector's contribution is projected to grow to 9.7% of the GDP and support 12.8% of total jobs, highlighting its critical role in the region's economic future.
