The Man: Women's Role in North America's Economic Growth

Breakout Session

Hosted by Milken Institute + México, ¿cómo vamos?

Historically, gender dynamics have been overlooked in North America’s interregional cooperation. Canada’s failed attempt to include a gender chapter in the USMCA underscores the need to address gender issues in economic integration. Economic realities highlight the importance of a gender-focused approach, especially in Mexico, where integrating women into the formal and high-skilled workforce is crucial. Past exploitation of women's labor, including Mexican migrant workers in the U.S., underscores the need to elevate discussions on women's roles in sustainable and inclusive economic growth. How can Mexico, the U.S., and Canada improve policies to better integrate and retain women, creating a more inclusive and robust economic future for the region?
