Lean on me: Partnering to Bolster North American Security
Roundtable
Enhancing security cooperation in North America requires governments to recognize the impact of seemingly domestic issues on the safety and well-being of people in neighboring countries. This roundtable will focus on developing solutions for shared security challenges, in particular, combating transnational criminal organizations (TCOs) that profit from the movement of arms, humans, drugs, cash, and contraband across and within our borders.
To be effective, North American partners must jointly confront the TCOs--since they comprise cross-border trafficking networks and supply chains across a wide array of illicit activities. Joint cooperation requires developing more and better integrated approaches and addressing current deficiencies. By leaning on each other to meet these challenges, the 'three amigos' can enhance security, prosperity, and stability for all North Americans.
